Company founder Amy McGee created City Pulse Public Relations in August 2001. Although the company is new to the communications industry, the professionals who make-up its successful team are not.

Amy McGee, Founder and President

Prior to launching City Pulse, Amy served as an editor, speechwriter, lobbyist, executive director, event planner, publication designer and publisher for several membership-based associations and advertising agencies in Austin, Houston and San Antonio. Former employers include the Houston Association of Realtors, Texas Nurses Association, Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education, Regnier Valdez & Associates, BD Langham Public Relations and Ray Associates.

The company is founded on Amy's relentless enthusiasm for clear, impactive communications and the ability to convey powerful ideas with simple, effective mediums. An accomplished writer, she has authored articles for numerous publications and continues to write for Houston-based publications Broker/Agent Magazine and 002 Magazine.

An active supporter of Houston's downtown revitalization and promoter of the city as a "world class" metropolis, Amy also participates in the Emerging Leaders division of the Downtown Houston Association. From 1997 to 2001, she served as the Communications and Marketing Director of the Houston Association of Realtors. During that time, the newsmagazine Association Trends identified Amy as one of 10 national "Young and Aspiring" association executives to watch. Her work to promote the real estate community in the media was also recognized by the International Association of Business Communicators with a bronze "Excalibur for Excellence Award."

This year, she began serving a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Houston Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA).

Amy is a fan of using all the latest "technological toys," and stays on top of the communications industry's accelerated pace with a voracious appetite for reading about new developments in books, magazines and on web sites.
